Style and practicality meet in the Jazz Age with the Wednesday flat Mary Jane shoes. Wednesdays are based on many original 1920s and 1930s advertisements for flat single-strap shoes with low 0.75 in / 2 cm common-sense heels and rounded toes. Shoes like these were worn by both women and girls, and often featured cutouts, broguing, and decorative contrast stitching. They are accurate all the way through the 1960s.
We've kept the Wednesday shoes simple and refined with white stitching outlining small perforation on ïZ¿ïZ¿calf leather uppers. The vamp strap has an adjustable center buckle, and the soles and heels are durable yet flexible, real leather. Wear Wednesdays with vintage daywear of the Art Deco period, or with modern Lolita and gothic attire.

I’m so happy I snagged these whilst they were on sale. I’ve been dying for a classic pair of flat Mary Janes for ages. The maroon is beautiful and eye catching, but the hue and saturation are toned down so there is a subtlety to them that makes them work with all kinds of ensembles. I love the white stitching and the metal buckle. It’s these little details that help really make these shoes (and all AD shoes) shine. They are extremely comfortable, with the exception that the heel rubs me just a bit. However, a thin heel pad, or likely some more time wearing them should remedy that. I typically wear a size 7, but have to accommodate for my feet having a lot of spread and flexibility. With that being said I didn’t order a wide, and I still find them extremely comfortable. Thank you AD for your artistry, knowledge, and dedication to making such practical, yet timelessly gorgeous shoes.

I really, really, really wanted these shoes to work but they're just not cut for me. I wear a street size 10 but the 10s were too big in the vamp to where they gapped and felt like a 9.5 would fit better. I sized down and tried a 9.5 but they're too tight and the strap comes up way too high so that it's closer to my ankle than the bridge of my foot. The toe is also a little more pointed than I was anticipating. They're absolutely adorable shoes but they're just not the right cut for my anatomy so I'm returning them. :-(
