Let me tell you how comfortable these shoes are. I do not wear heels and a 1 inch Cuban heel is enough to give me hip pain. So it is with brazen Aries confidence that I bought these shoes, tried them on for ten minutes and two weeks later (last night) decided to wear them for a pre-birthday bash drag show. Starting with that I left the house too early, walked ten minutes to a bus stop in a surprise light snow fall (again, walking in them for the first time), amazed to discover I had spontaneously developed the ability to walk in heels at all (thank you, incredible French heel design). Then I waited for forty minutes in the bitter cold before realizing the buses don't run that late on a holiday schedule. Walked back home (legs admittedly cramping), ordered a cab, went to the bar, danced my pre-birthday butt off, jumping, standing, stepping, sliding and completely forgetting that I was wearing the highest heel I've ever worn in my life, for four whole hours. Drank more than I've drunk in years and was totally stable on my feet even after leaving; in fact, definitely underestimated my inebriation simply because I wasn't stumbling. Roaring Thirties suddenly make a lot of sense. Anyway, everyone said I looked incredible, my favourite drag queen loved the shoes, and I'm not even sore the next morning. Worth getting dinged 80 CAD in customs fees.
